Aldi has shared its advice on how Oxfordshire residents can avoid queuing in supermarkets over the bank holiday.

The UK’s fourth-largest supermarket said the quietest shopping hours in Oxfordshire are between 8am-9am and 7pm-10pm.

Saturday, May 4, is expected to be the busiest shopping day over the weekend, according to Aldi.

The supermarket chain will maintain its usual opening hours on May 4 and May 5.

On bank holiday Monday, May 6, its stores will close at 8pm across England.

Customers are, however, advised to check their nearest store's hours on Aldi's website.

Richard Thornton, communications director, said: "We know how much people love to come together over a bank holiday weekend, come rain or shine, and that there’s nothing better than enjoying delicious food and drink with friends and family.

"That's why Aldi is here to help ensure you can pick up everything you need for the weekend ahead, without having to break the bank."

Click and Collect is also available to customers at a number of Aldi stores between 9am and 9pm Monday to Saturday and 10am and 4pm on Sundays, but bank holiday times will vary.

Customers at selected stores can visit the supermarket's website to browse its range and book a timeslot for collection, where all of their shopping will be brought to their cars and loaded into their boots by Aldi staff.
